The Day of German Unity doesn't really have much zing to it (much navel-gazing, and a whole bunch of people wishing that the cause for the day off i.e. reunification hadn't happened in the first place..) and All Saints is sombre at best.
Halloween maybe, but that's mostly just decorated pumpkins.
So when the hypermarket clears out vast swathes of bicycles and fitness kit, you just KNOW that - within days - we'll be smothered in red and green tat.
When's Easter next year....?

Buck up JB. Here Christmas $%^& is already out along with the damn pumpkins! You can't even enjoy one holiday without another hanging over your head like the guillotine! I'm starting to mumble and mutter just like you!!!
