It's a beauty.
The petals remind me of crushed silk.
And I learned a new word today
Thermophilous.
Requiring open, sunny places.
That's my sort of word.

It is a beautiful flower and one I have never seen until today and when I saw your post.
I hope you will be able to look at my picture of a mother robin with her head down the throat of a baby robin. This is part two of a series of four shots.
Thermophilous--that's me! The flower is gorgeous and I agree about the petals; I would like to be able to stroke it. Is it perenial? Hope so!
